Overachieved first half of season

Before I start, I like Wade....think he has a bright future ahead of him. He will get us relevant within the next 3 years. But, LSU basketball has overachieved the first half of this season, and the first 3 SEC games. Waters is a special player, but he is young and very inconsistent. He can take a game over, then be virtually non existent ( like today). Reath is improving, and will be a solid player. But Waters got schooled today by Lee, also a freshman. We need to play tighter perimeter D and Waters need to be more aggressive.....every game. Next year should be the year we breakout with the recruiting class we have coming in. A

our team is just not talented enough to sustain success. Next year will be interesting.

Can’t wait for these studs to come in next year....this is a makeshift roster by Wade. I still don’t understand how dominant they looked vs Arky...just to tank the next three.

Lol tough guy. Of course they will, they don't play anyone. That includes us

You're wasting your time trying to be logical. This is a last place team unless we play way over our heads. It is what it is. It'd be a lot worse if Wade hadn't turned the roster over to the degree he did. He did the best he could. His first recruiting class comes in next season. A lot of people here don't understand that basketball and baseball are different from football. Smaller schools, mid majors, etc field very competitive teams.
Same people with unrealistic expectations about this team are the same one insisting Wade would leave for a blue blood the minute he can. There's just some miserable human beings around here

Can’t beat the refs kids played their hearts out today and the game was taken away by officials. The SEC is pure trash.

Its amazing to see people on here thinking it was ok to lose to a southland team.

Is it unacceptable when a southland conference team makes the round of 32 or sweet 16?

This reflects more of a football mentality. In basketball, there are always mid-major teams that can compete with, and beat, a lot of "Power 5" teams. It's just the nature of the sport; it's easier for a small school to succeed, simply because you don't need that many good players. (Exhibit A: Indiana State with Larry Bird.) I haven't been following the sport that closely this season, so I can't say how good SFA is this year, but the fact they are from the Southland Conference has very little to do with how good they are or how they would compare to a "Power 5" team.

Last year they were 18-15. The coach that won in the ncaa tournament is long gone. Know what you're talking about before posting
