He was a first team All Pro because people threw at him instead of Wright. I get it you love Lott. But teams took chances at Lott as a Corner. They do not throw at guys that can make plays and they thought that Wright was the better cover guy. I do not understand how you can not figure this out?
The Niners moved him to Safety because he started losing his Cover skills.
