No one said it wasn’t also true of Bill Clinton. The “scandals” mainly give the talking heads on TV and the Internet nuts something to get riled about. Not many ordinary folks say, “Well, now, I’m switching my vote to the other side in light of this mess.”

That said, several Dems publically called on Clinton to resign, just as many Repub politicians have called out Trump for being a womanizer and a jerk.

But by and large people commit to a cause, whether a football team, religion, or a politician, and no amount of facts or scandal can back them offf of it. In the face of a challenge, they tend to double down if anything.
