The truly sad thing is, the majority of what Miles left behind were positive effects, not negative. Yes, the offense was stagnant under Cam, but the cupboard was certainly not left bare. Don't forget, Brennan committed while Miles was still around. Another thing to not forget is that O was the recruiting coordinator at the time. A major reason they didn't go after Etteine has to do with him.

Sadly, the positive marks Miles left behind are beginning to evaporate at a rapid pace as O and Alleva drag this program into irrelevance.

This is a false narrative.
Miles was the Head Coach, he sets the priorities for recruiting and not the recruiting coordinator. Miles left us with a bunch of guards trying to playing OT. He left us thin on the defensive line. We were thin at linebacker. We were heavy on skill at WR but had a lot of attrition because Miles' quarterbacks sucked. No, the program was in decline under Miles. Les was never much for attention to detail.

Miles lingering effect on the program is offensive ineptitude, which became our "brand". His laissez faire attitude left the program in a malaise over the previous couple of seasons.
