This sentiment will not go over well BUT, Ensminger is a good coach. Nobody is happy with anything regarding the hire, including myself. Ensminger is going to do his best to put a good offense on the field. He did a pretty decent job in 2016 considering the circumstances. It is not out of the realm of possibility that we could have a decent enough offense next year to win games. We certainly have the talent to do it. It’s going to come down to the same things as always, QB play and how the O line shapes up. Everybody was pretty pleased with the O line hire and we have some good talent there. I’m NOT saying we will have the best offense in the country. I’m just saying don’t crucify him and the offense before we have even played a snap.

I don’t think many are wanting to crucify Steve. O on the other hand...

Ensminger did a very good job to bring life to a dead offense last year, but it has been reported over and over than he didn't want to be the OC. He was fired as an OC both times that he held the position in the past. It doesn't mean he's not a good football coach, it just means he's not the best option as an offensive coordinator. We all know the point totals we had against Bama and UF - teams with really good talent.

I saw O praise Ensminger as being "loyal" last year and how he is "loyal" to Steve. Miles was loyal to Cam Cameron and vice versa. Bad setup.

The problem is that you can have the best QB play in the world (or OL) and without a competent offensive mind calling plays, you'll never succeed at a high level. You can't half arse one component and expect to have a good/great offense. By hiring Ensminger we're putting ourself in the hole from the get go. Good performance by players may get us to "serviceable" but it likely will never get us to "great'.
