He was going uphill on a really rocky part of a trail while mountain biking when he fell onto a rock slab onto his elbow.

9 years mountain biking and this is his first real injury. I would say that isn’t bad.

My wife always says one day she is just going to put the whole tree, ornaments and all in one of the spare closets until next season! She has some very old ornaments and through the years they have become fragile and when she packs them away, you would think she is planning for them to be sent halfway around the world. It is an all day process for her.
Be careful with that redwood! Sorry to her about your husband. Hope he on the mend and getting more use from it by the day.

Good Morning. So the book where the terrorists seize the White House and the Pres. is taken to the safe room. Do you think there are a bunch of hidden stairs, closets and rooms in the WH? They made it seem like the place is set up like the Addams mansion....

I just need to get it to the backyard somehow. Our street does a Christmas tree burning party (thinking it will be next weekend). Our tree is gonna be a good one to burn for the party!

Well, he is 150 years old

eta: I think his wife talked him out of it. The ladder is gone and so is he.

Flynn has a small paragraph at the beginning of the book that says something along the lines of "the descriptions and layouts of the white house dipicted in this book are not entirely accurate" or something like that. I don't think it's a far stretch that it does have all the hidden stairs and rooms, halls, etc but how the hell would you know without hard evidence. I believe it does to an extent

Yeah, I kind of figured is HAS some stuff and he just ran with what worked for the story. Kind of interesting to read about the remodels that the WH has gone through. I know there was a huge one in the very early 50's due to rot and liberal termites or some such. Find a picture of it that shows just the roof from 50 years ago and look at it today..

I enjoyed that book and the VERY end was satisfying but the assault to regain was strange. I don't think they ever told what happened to the guy drilling the safe room...Or I missed it...

I very much agree. The lead up to it was superb but then when it was over, I was like WTF, that was it? (que the bedroom jokes)
