You're wrong on Tom being in denial and not facing facts. When asked about Eli's benching, he said something to the effect of how you really don't get fairy tale endings in sports and it almost always ends ugly for old players. So, he knows what's up. But, I do agree with you to the extent that he anticipated an awkward QB competition/benching, he may have put on the power move.

to each their own.. just from the recent stories of him doing all these weird diets and chinese medicine stuff, and saying pubically he can play til he is 50 or whatever.... seems very much in denial.
