I did that. I was told I had to go to the court date at 6am and talk to the judge.

Trying to avoid that.

Call and speak to the clerk. If she can't help you, call, get the info for, and speak to the prosecutor for your case. Be EXTREMELY polite and explain your situation, particularly the out-of-state part of it. It may not help, but I've had good luck this way. In any case, I don't believe you should expect it to affect your insurance much, if at all.

I'm not being critical here, but you actually did not. It's an easy mistake, especially because of how you wrote the thread title.

"What are the effects(n) on my insurance?"

vs.

"How will this affect(v) my insurance?"
