The wage gap has been repeatedly proven to be a lie. Anyone that thinks it still exists does not understand simple mathematics.

The article does not go into detail, though. Is this only for people in the same position? Does seniority & experience mean nothing now? There are multiple reasons for people even in similar positions to get different pay. This law seems to take away the ability of a company to reward its best employees with higher pay. Just show up & do the minimal amount of work to not get fired & you can make as much as the guy who does better work & is a greater asset to the company. No reason to work hard anymore.

This is what the socialists in countries like Denmark and others openly praise. They embrace a culture of mass equality and discourage working harder to separate yourself from the pack.

Anyone who believes the wage gap doesn't understand business.

If a company could pay woman 80cents for every dollar they pay a man then they would NEVER hire men.

Yea if all things are equal and the male gets more, then sure, that’s fricked up. But years of service, job title, etc all factor into pay. We can’t pay a secretary the same as the ceo just in the name of equality.

Everyone loses in this scenario I believe. A company is not going to raise women’s pay to be equal with a man. They will simply pay the lower equal wage to everyone. Everyone loses. Yay! Lower pay for everyone—but equal.
