You can live in the burbs and send your kids to a decent public school which is what most people that move to Texas do anyway. I wouldn't put my kids in an inner city Houston public school. The job market/business climates aren't comparable though.

This isn't accurate at the majority of public schools in LA. EBR and NO I get you have to send your kid to private school. There are some pretty good schools in much of LA regardless of what people say. The average ACT score in LA was a 19.5. That is requiring ALL students to take the ACT their Jr. year of HS. even the special ed students
