I too am adopted and I did find out very early as my adoptive parents felt I should know....I was adopted in 1954.......I do wish that I knew my genetic information and what I was susceptible to ve some medical problems I may have avoided.My adoptive parents never steered me one way or another and they are/were my parents. If my birth parents had reached out they and I would have been overjoyed. Now that both my adoptive parents have passed I may indeed look for my birth parents or family.
