That is what I was thinking of doing.
Blackstone Labs has done an analysis on all my changes and recommended 9000 miles for the ‘normal’ Mobil 1 synthetic

I've actually read about someone who used a vacuum cleaning on the fill to suspend the oil while they pulled the filter.
