Why does this not come with the system?

To charge the controllers out of the box, you have to either plug the tablet into a power outlet with the joycons attached or plug the joycons into a docked switch.

Could have sworn that mine did.

But meh. Nintendo could shite in a box, slap $100 on it and I would buy it

A bundle?

I am specifically talking about the charging grips.

No I would imagine you are confusing the grip with the chargeable grip.

I bought an Xbox One X a few months ago.

Their default console controller still comes with the AA pack that requires a cord connection at all times, AA batteries for unlimited wireless use, or an additional purchase of the rechargeable battery pack.

Not sure why you are pointing only at Nintendo.

The charging grip was never in the box and has always been sold separately.

Because it's edgy and cool to hate on Nintendo on the internet now.

To be honest, my Switch didn't come with them but I have yet to need to charge my joycons in the middle of a play session and I've sat and streamed BOTW for 6+ straight hours. If it's so bad that you HAVE to have a charge grip, you're just irresponsible with charging your joycons when you aren't using them. This is in no way a "must have" for switch owners.

Ok. No one uses that thing or the joycons anyway.

We have 3 procontrollers if not playing in handheld mode.

In what scenario would you ever want or need a chargeable joycon holder?

Just got my Switch yesterday and I am leaning this way. The only time I could see myself using the joycons is in handheld mode. If it's docked, I'm using a pro controller

I love the joycon with the grip. I guess I’m used to it. Never the need for the pro.

I may have to give this a try to see which I prefer. I immediately set everything up and started BoTW with the pro controller

I used dying joycons as an excuse to stop playing 1 2 switch with my 5 year old since its ALL HE WANTS TO DO.

Thanks Nintendo

So just because you bought a car back in 2005 means that you should be able to get that same brand car for free today just because your old car broke down?
