GREAT coach with one good year after what, a 6-6 record last year, or some shite? So much knee jerking on this site.
Transition years. Look it up.
VERY rare for a coach to come into a new program and instantly become successful. I’ll be honest, I don’t know of any coach that’s came into a program and was extremely successful in their first year. If there is one, it’s an insane anomaly. When a new regime comes in and flips everything, it takes a while for the program to get on the right track.
I thought your “knee jerking” comment was ironic. Because that’s what you’re doing here with your “6-6” comment.

Did you see any melting?
Absolutely.
If I had a nickel for everyone that posted “the fence is down,” “Saban raiding,” id have a lot of nickels.

Athens is awesome i get it
This is so overdone. I’ve been to Athens 100 times. The awesome part is like 2 blocks.

I love LSU as much as we all do, but Athens is much better than Baton Rouge

Georgia being in the playoffs, being pro style offensively and being in a bad arse college town is probably a big part of it
Lol no. They have always had a badass college town and they never had classes like this. Even there class last year was better than normal. This is sketchy

I understand that BAMA will have a top 5 class.... But have you guys looked at their in-State recruiting class? If >insert LSU coach here regardless of name< landed a top 5 class and didn’t land very many in-State kids, this board along with any other LSU board, would have a fricking nuclear melt down because “the fence was down.”
In that hypothetical, we would have understood that we would be sharing in state talent with another major program.

Kirby knows Saban is not gonna make the next fours years and is using that to pull recruits.
Saban's age (he'll be 67 next October) may finally be playing a factor in recruiting, hopefully. And hopefully, they lose to Clemson in the playoffs...

Les Miles, 10 wins and a trip to SEC CG, after beating all odds against Katrina (AND Rita).
Define success... 10 wins? O is headed there in Year 1.
You’re not looking too hard, even in the obvious place.

VERY RARE was the keyword there. That’s an exception, not the rule.

That’s 2 in a row at our own school. I didn’t even try hard. Could be several others if I tried.

GA girls give better BJs is my guess

You’re mentioning the successful ones.
Not start listing the coaches that win only 6-8 games. I guarantee the list is longer

Lane took a team with 3 wins to 10 in his 1st year
Posted on 12/20/17 at 7:42 pm to tiger_rush
He seems like a stellar kid.

This is fun and fantastic....
Someone start rattling off coaches that had transition years and less than stellar years.

More likely he got asked to wait until NSD so Bama could hold out for better and keep him as a backup. Kirby probably came in and told him exactly that and he is wanted as UGA right now.

That’s what you mentioned. Why changing rules midstream?
A couple more quick ones... Coker, Chizik.

This class is the beginning of the end for Saban. The process is getting played out.
