What is wrong with you people? This guy has left LSU twice, and he left the second time with about 10 days to go in the early signing period. You people act like the program is going to fold.

I'm sure Austin Thomas is good at his job. But there are other people who can fill the role. If you want to get upset that Alleva still has his job or that Orgeron is the head coach of LSU, I have no problem with that and I'm with you there on both counts. But don't melt over some barely 30-something who is a staffer. He's not the only guy that organize a recruiting effort.

As far as I'm concerned, good riddance to Austin Thomas. The fact he left without having the Tennessee job completely secured shows incredibly bad judgment so the guy isn't perfect. He bailed with less than a week left, and that's as bad as Chavis working for A&M before his LSU employment was completely finished. When you consider how much Orgeron has vouched for him at three different stops, he owed Orgeron at least a little more than leaving 10 days before the first signing period.

I’ve never posted a single thing about Thomas before this thread and think he is the biggest rantard myth around. LSU Recruiting didn’t fold when Nick Saban left, when Larry Porter left, when Frank Wilson left, and it certainly won’t die because some front office nerd leaves.

I just find it interesting that a guy that the admin put so much stock in didn’t even bother to find out what his new job, responsibilities, compensation was going to be before leaving LSU where he was being very well compensated and had achieved a cult following as some sort of recruiting ace. Almost as if he couldn’t wait to leave.

Speculative. He was a graduate intern at UT the year before O got there and then served under Monte Kiffin as a defensive assistant in 09 before moving with the Kiffins to USC in 2010 before coming to LSU in 2013.

If anything, Austin is the one that vouched to get O on staff at LSU in 2015.
