This classes DB haul is looking like:

Pat Surtain Jr., Kelvin Joseph, and Mario Goodrich.
Bill Embody just put in a CB for Cook to Texas and Mario got two CB's to us from Bill and Bud Elliot.
I like this better than landing Cook honestly, Goodrich offers more length than Cook, and I trust Raymond to get him where he needs to be skills wise.

That's the theory at least. Since he is signing in February he will likely have his spot taken. Which that needs to be the case, we have plenty of young safeties, he would have to beat out 4-6 guys for a starting spot, it is in his best interest to go to another school.
Hopefully with that additional spot we can get another o-lineman or QB or have room for Pooka and Joiner.

goodrich can actually catch and has way better ball skills than cook. we will see

If its a choice between Goodrich and Cook, give me either one and I am happy.
They are both highly rated players. No one knows which one will be the better college player anymore than anyone could have predicted Delpit would beat out Jacoby Stevens.
We just know they both have great potential. I am just as happy if our db class is Surtain, Joseph and Goodrich as I am if its Surtain, Joseph and Cook.
That's a great haul either way.

I'm a huge fan of Goodrich. Looking at his film, one video took me to his twitter and he seems to be a decent kid who shows a lot of love to his friends and classmates. Might seem small, but I didn't see the negative posts we see from a lot of kids these days.

Update from Spiegs on Mario Goodrich. Also interesting, his birthday falls on the weekend he will OV to LSU. Also he has D1 offers in basketball, guys that excel at multiple sports in HS would be at the top of my board if I were a recruiter/analyst/scout.

Same also like to see guys who play on both sides of the ball or play a big role on special teams.

After watching both films I would prefer Goodrich over Cook. Goodrich seems to be more athletic and physical. He comes up and lays down law. Have to love a corner who can play man to man coverage and also help in run support. But I would take either.
