We aren't desperate. The position remains open. It likely will until (if/when) AT puts pen to paper at UT. If that doesn't work out and AT wishes to stay at LSU, then you let him and give him the raise you originally offered because he already earned it. He's good at what he does, and already familiar with the operation, so I can't see a reason to turn him away if it turns out Tennessee didn't have greener pastures after all.

Maybe so, but if you do, make him sign a contract with a buyout on his end and no buyout on LSU's end. The guy did a good job but he isn't irreplaceable.
