Aren’t you “supposed” to report purchases from sites like amazon and Newegg who don’t charge sales tax unless you reside in their state?
I’ve literally never reported anything come tax season and I’m not locked up

You are and no one does. I think this is an attempt by Newegg to not have to charge state tax but appease the states in an attempt to get people to file and pay.

Louisiana changed the law to where you pay tax at time of purchase now.
