Good, bad, average? To me you're secondary looked terrible the last several years.

Awful recruiter, secondary play was pretty bad as well but a lot of factors play into that

Dude was at Nebraska, and was a solid recruiter while he was in Lincoln. Was kinda bummed when he left.

I don't know what was going on with UT, but he has a pretty good reputation as a recruiter:

quote:

The departure of Warren is a blow for Riley. Warren, who was at Nebraska for one year, was considered the Huskers' best recruiter, and he has strong connections in the South.

Know he was well thought of at UNC as well. Picked UF over UCLA.

I made some calls to to several people in Knoxville with knowledge of the Vols coaching staff this past season. Most had nothing to say positive or negative. A couple of Vols beat writers had glowing reviews of Coach Warren though Said he was a rising star in the business. Look for your secondary’s footwork to be much improved.

TN finished 6th against the pass this year. He has good connections in the ATL area and Carolinas. Will be a massive upgrade over Corey Bell.

Lol 6th against the pass because all teams had to do was run the ball, our efficiency ratings were dogshit.

Really hard to judge him based off the one year here. Bob Shoop liked to play his DBs 12 yards off the ball and heavily influenced them. He also didn’t have much talent to work with.

I thought Gaulden, Moseley, and Warrior improved from last year under him. Not huge jumps but better.

He recruited two tiny low ranked corners from Florida. I don’t know if that was his doing or if it was another Butch special. He had solid reputation as a recruiter before he came here.

He got his start at Air Force and it shows in his demeanor. Likable guy. I would be pleased with the hire if I was a Gator.

I wouldn't judge him from his year at Tennessee. I think he's a good coach.
