Most people in their 20's live in Midtown. I would look at some condos downtown. (Those weren't around when I as in my 20's, but I think it would be a very cool place to live.)

If you want to consider the Eastern Shore, Fairhope is awesome. And it isn't just older people. There are a ton of young people who work in Mobile. And, the commute isn't bad bc you will learn quickly to avoid the Bayway and take the Causeway every day.

I wouldn't move to West Mobile bc it's boring out there. Nothing buy TGIFraday's and O'Charley's, etc. Spring Hill is another great area, but I don;t know if you'll get in there w/ only $1500/month.

It would be cutting it close, but IMO Spring Hill is by far the nicest part of Mobile.
