Petitto needs to be in serious consideration considering the upcoming talent in Tangipahoa parish and the state the next few years

As news broke today out of Baton Rouge that former General Manager Austin Thomas was leaving LSU for the Tennessee Volunteers, Tiger fans quickly reacted and took to social media. LSU fans mostly thanked Thomas for his efforts in Baton Rouge for his hard work and dedication to Tiger Football, and how much he did on the recruiting trail. Thomas left for Knoxville after reports came in that LSU offered him a pay raise which was turned down. Thomas is a native of Knoxville and has kept no secrets about wanting to go back home. But should LSU and Ed Orgeron take a page out of Thomas’ playbook and bring their local boy home? The trick is however, can you get him away from Nick Saban? Amite native Sam Petitto has been around the game his entire life and has vastly experienced with on the field coaching, and on the road recruiting. Petitto has had various stops in his coaching career which include a couple of local high school teams, and even coaching at Southeastern Louisiana University and Grambling. Petitto was widely known as a great defensive backs coach, however people raved about his overall knowledge of the game. Petitto then went up from the FCS level where he was the Director of Player Personnel for the Tar Heels of North Carolina. In the coaching realm, Petitto was known for being a fantastic recruiter and always being relatable to the players (personal experience)! Petitto would then take his talents to the University of Georgia with the same position in mind in which he was under the likes of Coach Mark Richt and now Tennessee Head Coach Jeremy Pruitt (who just hired Austin Thomas). After the departure of Mark Richt, Petitto would get a call from an old friend, and someone he had worked for before…. Nick Saban! The significance of Saban hiring Petitto was one which may have been overlooked by some, but not by all. 4 Star Wide Receiver, and also Amite Native, Devonta Smith committed to the Tide this past spring. Smith was once a UGA commit however decommited shortly after Petitto’s departure. With recruiting being the life line in all college sports, Petitto is the clear favorite to take the position of Thomas and here is why. Tangipahoa Parish, Petitto’s home Parish, has three Top 100 recruits in the 2019 recruiting class and the number one overall player. Petitto has shown he can recruit and make things happen! He is the only real replacement that could have an immediate impact for LSU! ITS TIME FOR HIM TO COME HOME!

Would be awesome to lure him away from Saban...hopefully the staff reaches out to him & we can get this done

I like it. Attempting to bring him in shouldn't even be a question. They should have been on him the second Thomas decided to go to Tennessee. I hope they were.

Considering hes from Amite and 2 of our top targets for 2019 are also from Amite - I'd say he would be an excellent choice.
Bet Saban makes it hard as frick to get him tho!

It'll probably be Justin Vincent, he's the assistant director of player personnel.

Good Candidate to Replace Thomas....
and EVENTUALLY REPLACE Joe Alleva....

Think about this one (for the long term Alleva Position)
WONT HAPPEN but would be a really great fun idea

As a HEAD COACH I DESPISED MILES.....
However for a CEO/Athletic Director Hire Les Miles (I like the idea)
Would he come back NOOOOOOO for Thomas' position, but for CRAZY JOE's Position yes, and I think MANY of you would support that position....
