He didn’t start the first game. They were 3-3 in the games he played, with the losses being a 3 point loss to the Patriots, 8 points to the Chiefs, and 3 points to the Seahawks... and all of those games he was great in as the Texans scored 33, 34, and 38 points respectively.

And the games they won they scored 13, 57, and 33.

Watson was tearing it up before he got hurt. The defense had many injuries and was struggling.

But the sentiment here in Houston is that the Texans now have their franchise quarterback and the future is bright.

Clint Capela on the other hand is quietly putting up almost 20 pts 15 reb and 3 blks per 36 as the 5 option on the best team in the NBA. The Pels could dump davis and rebuild around an elite young big like Capela and maybe start to turn the ship around with a core of Jrue,Demarcus and Capela.

Just throwing out some ideas since the NBA rumor mill is dry these days, I think the Rockets would definitely be interested in downgrading from Clint to Anthony Davis if we could get 2 firsts and the pels eat 50% of the remaining salary on davis' albatross deal.

This this this. His 3 losses were to New england bc bill obrien didn't wanna go for 4th and inches at the patriots twenty to seal it. The 5-0 at the time chiefs beat us and watson threw 5 td, and he had the most yards ever vs seattle something like 400+ pass yards and 50+ rush yards in seattle in the game we lost. That's pretty damn elite to me for a guy in his first 6 NFL starts. When you drop 34 ppg on the offensive side of things, if you lose, its on the defense.

He didn't start the first game but didn't he come in early and still end up with like 25 passes?

And I'm not saying you don't.

I'm saying the franchise is not elite...yet. They easily could be soon but they're not there (Watson hurt or not).
