Actually I would like a serious answer. Do you think Scott isn't capable? He is electric!! Has been during his career. JC players are generally not sub-par athletes. Most have grade or behavioral issues and go to JC to redeem themselves or to prove they belong in a D1 school.
It is a good question. I think Lindsey has a ton of potential and has performed well in HS and in JUCO. SEC football is tough. Lindsey could be the next Russell Wilson. No one knows for sure. Recruiting is not an exact science. Brett Favre was recruited by LSU as a LB, Marshall Faulk and Steve McNair as dbs.
The coaches make the decisions they make and hopefully make the right ones. Lindsey is doing well and is a fine young man. I wish him the best.

So why is it he still got shite offers? I guess all the major schools not giving him a fair chance. Lol
You guys are hilarious. The fact that you try and compare juco with Lsu is hilarious. One would think he would have gotten decent offers?

I do as well. I doubt he will be a future Heisman Trophy winner, but you never know for sure.
In actuality, I do trust the current coaching staff to make the right call on personnel. They have chosen Brennan and Narcisse to lead the Tigers over at least the next two seasons. I believe Brennan to be an excellent, very accurate passer with a quick release. If he learns to make the right reads and develop pocket awareness, he will be exceptional. Narcisse has not played in three years, but his videos show him to be an effective passer and an excellent, powerful runner. They should make an excellent tandem!

I am so sick of hearing this. He was not able to "beat" out anyone due to his lack of size. If you think Les would have allowed him to be the QB, you are kidding yourself just like Miles not EVER having an undersized RB be the lead back.
Miles won a lot, but was stubborn. He had a formula as to what he thought were measurebles for positions and Scott was not in that mold. I hope Lindsey goes somewhere and absolutely kicks arse to shut some folks up. Remember when Russell Wilson was not good enough? Funny how that worked out, he IS THE Seahawks offense.
Miles?

Old staff actually had Scott ahead of Mcmillan before they got canned. Scott and McMillan actually were splitting the 2 reps in this yrs fall camp. Everyone else on the depth chart after 2nd string were just on the depth chart. LN, JM,and LS rotated randomly. MB was the focus, not who was 2, 3, or 4.
Why would anyone trust the "old staffs" opinion on quarterbacks?

For third string?? Who was second string according to you? Brennan I guess. This is just idiotic nonsense, Scott left because he probably felt that he wasn't getting a fair shot and people on here know that, but choose to act ignorant. They (the coaches of course, really Canada at the beginning of the season) wanted to run the offense that they were inclined to run, and he had his hierarchy that he felt comfortable with with Etling being at the top. With limited reps and zero PT Scott knew he really wasn't getting a fair shake and so he bounced, he went and played in an offense he felt really comfortable with and exceled in. He could have done the same at LSU had they run a similar offense.
So he PROBABLY thought he wasn't getting a fair shot but people on here KNEW that to be true? Do you realize how dumb that sounds? He is barely a D1 talent and only ended up in Baton Rouge because lsu missed out on every other qb they had recruited. He did great at emcc. So has every other qb that buddy has coached. That doesn't mean they can play and succeed at lsu. I'm not sure what's so hard about that to understand.

The fact he was not good enough to beat out Justin Mcmillan for 3rd string qb?
Anyone who halfway paid attention in the spring and in fall camp knows there was no quarterback competition. That was complete and utter BS. Danny Etling got the vast majority of the reps, the others were lucky to get one or two.
Then when Brennan arrived in the fall, with no competition whatsoever, he was inexplicably moved up to second string and given far more reps than the rest of them. That was the final straw for Scott. He packed his bags and transferred to Mississippi Comunity College and the rest is history.
Anyway, I don't care what anybody says, Scott was way better than Mcmillan, Brennan and Narcisse and smarter too.

Wilson was also a good qb and was given opportunities because of that. Scott is not a good qb and will not be given the same opportunities. Funny how that worked out?

As evidenced by his overwhelming offer list.

He's visiting Kansas today wouldn't shock me if he ended up there. Buddy can make any qb put up big numbers with their style of offense at EMCC. The future of LSU is already on campus in Lowell or Brennan.
EMCC didnt have the depth that they normally have. Only 1 P5 offer on the entire team. They needed a guy who could operate from the pocket this year, as opposed to an athlete. Scott also rushed for 700+ yards. 4000+ yds total. Agreed. The future is already here.

In the 3rd game of 2016, still under Les Miles, McMillan came in to play the 4th quarter, no? Wouldn't that make Scott 4th string that year?
I think that Scott was behind Etling and Myles was beating him for 2nd string last Summer. He probably had a good opportunity to start in JC and took it.
Go back and check the depth chart for that week, its published. They were not going to burn a redshirt of a 3rd team QB just to run the clock out.
You are right about Etling. Myles was the #2 upon arrival.

He was given an opportunity whether you want to get it thru your thick skull or not.
Since you don't really know either?

Give it up, he wasn’t going to lead us anywhere, and he isn’t going to play for another SEC team.
That would require an opportunity, which none of know to what extent that was given.

I do to. I'm just correcting facts. We have our QB. Plus this is wrong board

Recruiting is tough. So true. Coaches miss more often than they hit on this position. Nature of the beast

Nobody wins two back to back state championships and a national championship if you are not good.
People can't get over his height.

Thats easy. Height. Russell had Duke (1-11) and NC state (3-9). No other offers and was a two star. Russell didnt have one single mid-major. Was viewed by Duke and NC State to some extent as a better baseball prospect.

You do know that he had 12 D1 offers right. 5 Power 5 offers right. You do realize that he had more D1 offers than Wilson and Brees (Kentucky and Purdue). No need to knock the kid. He's a class act. Good football player.

Wilson went to a struggling program NCState (3-9 record), so his value was more felt. Scott threw and ran for more yards than Wilson in HS in Louisiana 5A. Doesn't mean that he will be better. But he had a better HS career. Russell Wilson at Alabama is probably a different story (especially back then).

Im not knocking him. Just pointing out a fact. If he was as talented as some on here are saying he would have more opportunities right now. That doesn't mean he isn't a great person with a bright future. But it does mean that Les probably made a mistake recruiting him.

This is flawed reasoning. You assume that "If he was as talented" as some here say, he would have more opportunities. Thats simply not true. His talent and his height are two separate issues. Russell and Drew were elite QBs who were under recruited because of their height. The people on this board could be right when they say:
- Scott is a high level QB;
- Who is under recruited do to his height; and
- Our current staff, like the majority of FBS schools, prefer a taller QB.
