Protect and to Serve has become a baseless moniker because people aren't calling the police anymore.

Unless it's like some crazy home invasion. They will never find your car (if they ever look for it) and they will investigate you if they're at your door for some reason...you can say...I just got robbed and they'd say..."well where were you last night?" "Is this even your house?"

Chris Rock: "Oh lawdy, I just robbed my own house!"

The new Motto should be arrest and shoot...not protect and serve. Who are they serving? Their fellow officers that's all. That's all they care about is The Thin Blue Line.

They were called to the hotel for a man with a gun pointing it out the window. When he began crawling, they had already told him to show his hands, he clearly reached towards his pocket and waist band and got shot. Maybe they could have used a taser, but I'm not second guessing the officer. He leaves his house every night wanting to get home to his family as well. Most of us never have to worry every day that we might get killed doing our jobs. The guy was drunk waiving guns out a motel window at patrons..The old saying play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Maybe we can put to rest the debate that only unarmed black men are shot by police.

So out of the tens of millions of interactions with the public you can make this blanket statement based on a these relatively limited tragedies? That's brilliant.

Only if absolutely necessary. In emergency.

Friend called cops years ago because a guest was acting strange at a house party. Cops came, ran everyone's information and arrested him on some bogus charges out of Florida. Took him forever to clear that crap up.

Funny you say that. At LSU my car was broken into. Cop found it first and put a bag over the window and left his card to call the station.

Apparently I get two different jackasses who couldn't have been more unprofessional and then insinuate I broke into my own car. Part of me wishes I reported those assholes but I know it wouldn't have done anything.
