Another way to do it is just use the division winners (using P5 only)
So you would have had
Miami
Clemson
USC
Stanford
tOSU
Wisconsin
Auburn
Georgia
Oklahoma (BXII no divisions)
Then you take top 3 teams left over from there to fill to 12, but the conferences wont get rid of CCG.
You can also have the conferences declare their rep will be X before the season, either winner of regular season, highest rated, winner of CCG, then build one that way.

Using the Power 5 division winners +3 model it would look like...
9. Penn St vs 8. USC, winner plays 1. Clemson
12. Stanford vs 5. Wisconsin, winner plays 4. Alabama
10. Miami vs 7. Auburn, winner plays 2. Oklahoma
11. Washington vs 6. Wisconsin, winner plays 3. Georgia
That would be a fantastic bracket IMO

4 super conferences of 20 teams each, 10 teams in each division. Play round robin in your division and the division Champs get in the playoffs.
