Mark Clattenburg "allowed Tottenham to self-destruct"

However, Clattenburg says he could have taken much more draconian action during the match, but was happy to let Tottenham "self-destruct" instead

That guy is so full of himself.
Spurs definitely should've had guys sent off.
Though if he controls the game earlier, it never comes to that. He let it get that bad.

He also admitted to make-up calls but used the word "balanced" to justify it.
His example was the 2016 Champions League match, Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid. Basically the deciding factor in him giving Atletico the PK was because when Real scored Ramos was slightly offside. I believe he admits that he only has knowledge of Ramos being offside is from video replays after the goal, which is why it wasn't called back in the first place.

Awful. I saw a video the other day where he explained that he wouldn't use the video board to make a call that he missed in real time. I think the example was Alexis Sanchez's handball goal from a year or two ago. Wonder why the change of heart.
