If we know that's the destination, and we get the same price, why would you not use an agent???

For cruises Id certianly make sure you get an onboard credit if using a travel agent. Most of them should also include some sort of in room gift as well. Usually like a bottle of wine/champagne, beach bag etc. and sometimes they'll include a meal at one of the premium restaurants.

Its kind of weird because cruises are one of the easiest vacations to plan but probably one of the smartest to use a travel agent for simply because of the perks you can get by either booking with one or transferring your reservation to one. I usually book my cruises with AAA travel just because of the perks they give by booking with them.

The biggest reason NOT to book a cruise with a TA is because they have to be the ones to make the changes...they essentially hold the reservation. Disney doesn't do alot of flash sales like say Royal Caribbean so making changes to your reservation isnt as common but it can be a pain in the arse sometimes.

One reason we don’t travel as much anymore is that I no longer enjoy grinding for deals and the best hotels, etc. When I was younger, I sort of enjoyed the planning, but I now hate it,

I was just thinking about consulting an agent for an Italy trip to 3or 4 cities, with transport in between, We’ve wanted to go for years, and the only obstacle has been my hatred of spending hours online planning and booking it.

I tell my wife, “You book it, and I’ll go,” but she apparently hates the process too. She says she wants to go but never books it.
