If you are a snowflake parent or have a snowflake child, wait a few years until they have an ATV that drives itself. If you are willing to teach your child how to operate, maintain and fix a vehicle, then about 5-6 years old should be fine. My crumb-cruncher got a jr-50 with training wheels @ age 5.
