Well if we’re counting his time as a uniformed officer as the same as being a member of the oresident’s Senior staff, technically he “worked for Obama” and his predecessors for 34 years or so.

And he worked for Trump from February 2016-February 2017. That’s not 20 days—your “admin” caveat be damned. And the story he lied about—the one that’s made him a convicted felon—is referenced in the plea. Seems to date specifically to two meetings that occurred during the transition of the Trump admin (and there’s more leading into those, but that comes later, I guess).
