OP, ask if you can shoot the rifle. It’ll be a lot of recoil.
Everyone is different, but I used to personally be extremely recoil sensitive until I was 20 or so. I was horrible as a kid and all I shot was a .243.
I've since grown out of it. My point is simply that imo recoil either bothers you or it doesn't, caliber does not make a huge difference once you get to something like .270 plus. I shoot now and my shoulder gets sore before it bothers me. Especially when hunting, if you are thinking about recoil when hunting you have a pretty major issue and really shouldn't be shooting anything close to a .300 win mag. I definitely agree that some rifles and some calibers are worse then others, but imo recoil usually either bothers you or it doesn't.
