The Notre Dame scenario is completely dependent on what happens to Bama.
If Bama stays at No. 5, then they would be assigned to the Orange Bowl as the highest ranked SEC/B1G team. The Citrus would have to take a B1G school, which would be MSU.
In order for the Citrus to take Notre Dame, you would need a B1G team to be ranked higher than the SEC option. So, you would need UGA to win, Bama in the CFP, and OSU to be ranked higher than Auburn. The Orange would take OSU, which would allow the Citrus to select Notre Dame as the ACC representative.
Clear as mud?
