No love from the Xbox One X

Dear diary/Facebook
Got mine in today and it bricked (E100) on the update. Tried everything including an offline update but zero love. Boxed up and headed back to Amazon tomorrow, replacement due on the 12th of December.
I have games coming in almost daily for the next week from Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales so it will be a long 2 weeks.

My most excellent wife did me a solid. She checked availability at Walmart and picked one up on the way home last night and canceled the exchange with Amazon. She came into my study carrying it and I thought she had reopened the one I had boxed up. The update went fine and I was playing after updating the console and updating GR Wildlands.
I did order a Rock Candy controller last night after I realized so many games come now without legacy options for controller layout. I will hardwire it to full time legacy, the RC wired controller looked a lot easier to tackle modding than the MS controller. After the holidays when I have more time I will buy another MS controller and tackle a hardwiring on a "real" controller. I hate I went down the legacy road back in the day but I am just too old to ever be good without it.
Looking forward to Forza and Halo that come in tomorrow.
