I’ve seen too many great throws this year. You guys are going to have to go further than the surface. Stop being lazy K?
No one is saying Brees has fallen off a cliff but with declining play, its the consistency that always drops off first. Payton is not calling as many shot plays as he has in the past. People keep saying its because of the run game but it's not. We had a run game in '09 & '11 & Brees still ate teams up deep. It's not happening this year because Brees has missed his fair share of deep throws. Way more than we are accustomed to seeing. Also, deep throws come on deep drop backs. Brees made evading rushers look easy in the past. Now he can't make free rushers miss to chunk it deep sometimes.

Brody it’s hard to determine he is inconsistent throwing down field when he lacks time & in a lot of cases, lacks the appropriate WR separation.
Not every throw down field is the same. I’ve seen many dimes this year and while he’s completing 70% of his passes it’s hard to say he has time to miss many passes, even down field.
