More fun things about UCF:

They beat Navy 31-21 on the road. Navy just went toe to toe with Notre Dame on the road, losing 24-17, a game Navy was ahead in the 3rd and tied in the 4th.

They beat Maryland 38-10, a team that shocked the CFB world by beating Texas in the opening week.

They beat Memphis 41-13, handing Memphis their only loss this year.

They beat Temple by almost the same exact score Notre Dame did, but yet again played them on the road while ND got the home treatment.

They needed that game against GT for comparison sake. The Memphis win was really good. GT almost beat Miami so a blowout win would have looked nice especially since GT beat VT. It wouldn’t have really mattered anyhow unless they had scheduled and beat a 1 loss top 10 team.

It’s going to be hard for anyone not in the Power 5 to ever make the playoff unless it goes to 8 teams. Playing UCF is a huge risk with very little reward for the big guys. You get no respect for beating them and your championship hopes die if they beat you. Their name doesn’t draw money either. I live in Houston and unless Fertita gets UH in a power 5, then they’ll forever have a glass ceiling at number 5 and everyone knows it.
