been catching fish while my partner is not. Only difference is I'm using flourocarbon and they're using braid
Which is when I started using one. My hang up with the leader was twofold: first fluoro can nick up quicker than mono but mono stretches more and the second I hadn't found a knot I like UNTIL my friend showed me what he was using and now I swear by it....modified Albright knot. I have the link on my phone just in case I need it.

I use the FG knot and it hasn't failed me yet. I may try this modified Albright knot to see if I can tie it faster
To the OP:
I'll use a leader on most of my moving baits with a single hook. I use straight flouro for cranks, ploppers, etc.
The flouro leader gives a little stretch as mentioned, which I like on a spinnerbait or chatterbait but allows me the sensitivity of braid
And I use Seaguar Tourney braid. Best I've found so far and I've been through them all.
ETA: i'm throwing a leader on any water that is somewhat clean when pitching. If it's stained or muddy (90% of south LA), i'm going straight braid.
