if your DT is 2nd in tackles that is actually a very good thing, as opposed to your FS being 2nd.
Guys are not getting very far from the LOS if your DT is 2nd in tackles, just sayin...

You mean SS, but I somewhat agree with you. LB'ers should always be high in tackles, and SS should be behind them, a DT should be following them. Strong safeties make tackles downfield on receivers as well as in the box backing up linebackers.
