As far as a-hole behaviors are concerned, hunting down an elephant may be #1.

i don't disagree

but

the reality is an elephant is going to get killed regardless, to cull the herd

these situations present an opportunity for the preserves to use that situation to fund their operations to continue to protect elephants

this reminds me of when corey knowlton killed that rino and people lost their minds. that rino was a bull past its breeding age who was preventing the virile males from breeding with virile females. it was going to be killed because of this. the only question was if a ranger was going to kill it or a foreigner would pay to kill it (after gaining approval from multiple levels of government) and fund their operation
