Everyone knows that chicken bones can't be fed to dogs. But it's the same thing with pork bones. Never give a dog a pork bone. A good beef bone does not splinter, it crunches.
I had a close call years ago when my lab found a chicken bone someone had thrown in tall grass. I rammed my hand down his throat and grabbed the end of it and pulled it out before he swallowed.
