On one of my first visits to an Indian place, they had a fixed price multi-course meal that included dessert.

When I was done, I asked the waiter about our dessert. He explained that it was on my plate and I had mixed it in with the other foods.

I laughed my arse off, and I still laugh when I think about it.

And you should have heard us trying to get a waiter to explain what this "papadum" was that he offered. He could not fathom that anyone did not know, so he just kept saying, "It's papadum. It's papadum." We shrugged our shoulders and ordered it.
