It's going to be hard to replace manned close air support with remote drones. This is why as hard as they've tried they can't get rid of the A-10 Warthog

I can easily imagine a future where drone swarms could be far for effective at CAS than Hogs. If our soldiers had transponders like planes the drones could pick off enemy combatants within feet of US troops. The drones could be relatively small for soft targets.

Close air support is going the way of the dodo bird regardless of the increase in drone use. Our surface to surface fires are becoming more accurate and responsive by the day. They require less coordination and much less logistical support and costs. Look at the battle of Raqqa in Syria. Marine artillery fired so many rounds, most of them precision guided munitions just as accurate as a JDAM, that they literally wore their barrels out and had to put the guns out of service.
