NSIAP but Dan O'Dowd and Joel Sherman made a great point on MLBN last couple of days about how the excuses of Otani/Stanton slowing down free agency is bs.
They both said teams have become smarter than ever before and know how bad FA is and have educated their owners about it so that you don't have Mike Illitch/Ted Lerner types ruining their future. They know players will panic and settle for an amount favorable to the team.

Which is always the smart thing to do, yet we still see Boras clients getting paid regardless of how teams view them
