The smell of burning wood and leaves is what I hoped for when I moved to the "country". I grew up smelling that when camping and going out to my great uncles 40 acres in MS. All good memories.

I think most people associate those smells with positive thoughts and feelings of a rural life. Its weird that it bothers you.

FWIW, people who burn plastic and other petro products should be shot. That shite seriously sticks.

That's the thing, they burn "piles" with wood mixed with all sorts of debris. The odor is conspicuous and inflecting.

I lit a nice brushpile at the farm yesterday then sat on the tailgate under a pecan tree, drank a few beers and ate hogshead cheese and boudin on saltines by myself. Even listened to a bit of Dale Watson.

I found it to be the most pleasant day in the last 6 months.
