Business Jobs in BR

Does anyone have any advice for looking for jobs in the Baton Rouge area? I've been trying Indeed and LinkedIn, but haven't had too much success in finding professional type positions.
I am a recent graduate in business and have some internships in market research/marketing and would be interested in marketing, finance, or any other related positions.

How mobile are you? Unfortunately, BR can be an opportunity desert, especially with your field. Petrochemical, construction management, and oil and gas run the show here.

Try going directly to the companies website or going to the business in person if they don't have a website.

Tell everyone you are looking for a job. Everyone.

That’s way too broad and general, do you have any specific skill or expertise? Why should anyone hire you over their nephew or friend’s son?

Sad but for the most part you've got to have a connection. Look at ops in Houston.

80% of good jobs never get advertised.
You have to network. You have to research.
Looking at job boards is only 20% of your job search.
What is your background? What kind of job are you looking for?
Remember getting a degree of any kind is no guarantee you will get a job. Employers realize that having a degree is no guarantee that a person can do the job.
Give us some background on you, experience and education .
Most jobs are secured through networking relationships

My advise is get out of BR. You will find out the world is a better place, and opportunity will be greater elsewhere

finding professional type positions
quote:Being objective here (not critical)... I think your goals appear to be "fuzzy". Not your fault. Just a product of where you are relative to your professional evolution. I think adding some key certifications would show good faith on your part and set you apart from your peers. You have to market yourself and make yourself appealing to prospective employers. Also, don't try to eat the entire sandwich in one bite. It may take a few years to bear fruit.
and have some internships in market research/marketing

A someone who graduated and moved to BR for my first two jobs, my best advice is to look somewhere else. Even if you find a good job, everything about post-college BR sucks. If I didn't travel nearly every week for work, I would have left that shite-hole already.

I know of a large industrial rep in BR hiring for an entry level inside sales position. (saw it on LinkedIn) They actually represent the manufacturer I work for
