No but why didn't you just go to the original contractor and tell him to do what you paid for? You should be demanding he do it and not worry about a check right now.

Original contractor clearly does shoddy work. He was originally supposed to do the addition on my house as well, but we had issues with that, which is why I hired a different contractor. I don't want him touching anything else on my property.
