Considering this trade:

I TRADE
K. Hunt
D. Freeman
L. Murray
R. Cobb

I GET
T. Gurley
M. Ingram
J. Landry
E. Engram

Caveat: I'm in 1st place in the league, and the other guy is looking to fire sale in return a jump on next year. Hunt would be a keeper for next year for a mere 5% of my draft auction budget.

All 4 of these guys would start for me, whereas Lat Murray and Cobb won't, barring byes or something.

What's the good word boys....opinions?

On the surface, seems like a trade I’d be willing to make if I were you

But before you pull the trigger, let some of the big dogs weigh in

Not sure what the rest of your roster looks like but I'd say you win in this trade.

Seems to me like you'd both come out about even trading Hunt/Freeman for Gurley/Ingram but getting Landry/Engram while trading away Murray/Cobb gives you the advantage.

This guy took the words of of my mouth. I might rather Freeman/Hunt side over Gurley/Ingram, but they're very very close to each other. HOWEVER, I would much rather the Landry/Engram side over the Murray/Cobb side, and to me it's not even close. I don't know what the rest of your roster would look like after this, but yeah I say do the trade too.

How long can you keep keepers for and is there any increasing cost?

It will weaken your keeper spot, but flags fly forever. Go for it.

Our auction budget is $400. You can keep a player for up to 3 additional years with an increasing tax of $15/$30/$45. I got Hunt for $6 this year so keeping him thru his keeper eligibility would cost me $21 next year, $51 the year after, and $96 in the final year.

But thanks for chiming in everyone....I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

This is the issue here. Yes the trade is balanced toward you. But the keeper value actually increases the value of Hunt in the trade. That type of value is enormous. Consider this, Hunt has propelled you to the #1 team in the league this season. You can get that same value next year with him, or you can trade it away to help ensure your championship this year. Your trade partner may be selling his team to prepare for next year, but if you do this trade, you're likely going all in on this year at the expense of future value

Yikes, completely skipped over the keeper bit.
That changes things quite a bit.
I traded L Bell last year for DJ/Cooper and a TE, I think Kelce? That was at the end of the season and I knew barring something crazy I'd win the league for sure, but L Bell had an amazing keeper value... I think 25/200.

Without knowing the rest of the values, I don't think this is a great trade for you. Hopefully it works out and you win this year
