The answer is both.
This.
In fact, if you replay Turner’s first three at bats, Keuchel missed his location all 3 times on the final swing.
In the first at bat, McCann set up inside and up and keuchel threw it on the outer half of the plate and got Turner to chase for a strikeout.
In his second at bat, McCann set up the same way and Keuchel left it on the inner half up and Turner fouled out to first.
In his third at bat Turner switched bats. I’m guessing to a lighter bat that allowed him to bring his hands through the zone faster in order to get to that inside pitch. McCann called for the pitch way inside and up just like before and Dallas missed his spot once again in the same place that made Turner foul out in the previous at bat. Only this time he was waiting on it.
So, to me, it was a questionable pitch call and from McCann and Keuchel considering the fact Dallas missed his spot twice before. But then again, you got him out twice already trying that strategy. But, if you can’t execute it, it’s not a good strategy the third time around because you’ve got to expect he was looking for it.
Take into account he just got a favorable call on the low strike. We’re used to Dallas and McCann exploiting that and why they didn’t, we’ll never know.
It was a bad pitch and ultimately won the game for the Dodgers.

his homerun probability was only 35%. i need to rewatch to see how badly keuchel missed, but it was still a good miss that had no business being a homerun that was only a homerun because of how hot it was
