I'll be the contrarian here.

Look, so far Simmons has done very well. No question, and if it continues, I'll certainly eat crow.

But my concern with Simmons was his lack of shooting ability. His recent triple-double game, Simmons made only 1 shot outside the paint, which was his only attempt (18 feet).

In the other 3 games, Simmons DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT a shot outside the paint.

No question, with his size and handle, he can easily penetrate if bigger guys try to guard him on the perimeter, and he can score if they continue to do that.

But I think most teams will figure out he's not a threat outside, so they'll sag his defender off and make him score from outside.

If he can consistently do that, he'll be unstoppable. But I have yet to see it. And no other team has even made him try yet.

He has a bunch of great jump shooters on the Sixers, including one of the best in JJ Reddick. Even their starting center is a damn good outside shooter. It's almost like complaining why Shaq didn't shoot more jumpers or try to get to the free throw line more.

He attempted 2 3-pointers against Toronto. He's got 5 attempts from outside of the paint this season.

He's only made 1, which was your point, but just pointing out the discrepancy in your numbers.
