This is why you have to be with someone you actually like and can be friends with. The hormonal/chemical magnetic attraction wears off. If you like other things about each other, you’ll find different things to be attracted to. There’s a lot of pros in a long term relationship with someone who really knows you and accepts you. But it is still sad to know you can’t get back that early relationship high.

I agree and have felt those genuine connections myself. They're nice. But it also comes with an extremely high emotional and financial risk
Heartbreak is painful and losing your kids/home/wealth on top of that is just not worth the long term bond.
The first six months of every relationship has always been the best for me
