They might.

But are you willing to join law enforcement or work for the prosecution (or be a public defender) if you are a lawyer?

I wouldn't. New Orleans or any city with similar problems is ungovernable if you want to do it like you would in a small town in Maine.

How exactly would you go about being a prosecutor in New Orleans? Let's say there is a shootout. The cops show up while it is winding down. Get a couple guys red handed, and some dead bodies on the ground. Tons of witnesses.

Then you go to court. And NO ONE SHOWS UP TO TESTIFY. You really think you can make all that stuff in the Constituion work in that scenario? Regardless of whether something is "Right" or "Wrong," do you think you can make it work? At all?

New Orleans got the DA's office it needed. And probably the one it deserved.
