I think what upset me was the vet who led the pledge did two combat tours in the Afg. I felt like the kid could at the very least have stood up for this guy who saw several of his friends die, regardless of whether you believe we were right or wrong for being over there.

The Pledge of Allegiance was drafted by a socialist and solicited into schools by a socialist. Its basis in our history is not to teach us about freedom, it is to teach us to worship the State.

There is a reason many Christian sects, specifically Jehovah's Witnesses, refuse to say it. They believe it to violate the 1st and 2nd Commandments. I agree with them.
